Stephan Uhrenbacher is an entrepreneur and an investor in technology companies. Stephan is CEO of FLIO which provides a digital experience for airport passengers, and he invests in North American AI startups via Density Ventures.
Stephan follows his passion to help entrepreneurs grow as an associate in the machine learning track of Creative Destruction Lab of the University of Toronto.
Before founding FLIO, Stephan founded Qype which he built into Europe’s largest local review website. Qype was acquired by Yelp in 2012.
Other companies Stephan founded are short-term lettings platform 9flats.com. 9flats in 2016 acquired competitor Wimdu which was then sold to Wyndham Hotels. Stephan also co-founded Germany’s leading eco-marketplace avocadostore.de – which he exited in 2017.
Earlier in his career, Stephan held top management positions at well-known internet companies such as lastminute.com, bild.de and docmorris.com
